The expression is a play off of what was once said about when you get the best men of each military branch/specialty together around the same table. The sum of all fears.
It works for here, as well. Granted, there are distractions. That is why this place is attacked as much as it is. The most brilliant of people can interact with each other over the internet and share information with each other. Getting them together around a President… That's more powerful than any single arsenal.
On one hand, I trained to pick apart large armies using small numbers. On the other hand, my "general knowledge" of most things rivals many subject matter experts. The wit to destroy is a force to be reckoned with, but a force that can innovate and create doesn't need to fight to control a means. That force only needs to fight to preserve its autonomy from parasites.
