Hi anons, marketing fag here.

One thing Q hasnt mentioned but plays big with FB is Oracle.

FB gets most of their outside user data from Oracle. They have a direct partnership.

As one executive told me, "Oracle knows everything about everyone."

In 2017 when FB got in trouble w Congress for their advertising practices, they publicly stated they were sunsetting those rules. In-house, however, they continued to target demographics, use outside data sources, and allow business users to export end user data.

Facebook has a very different set of practices for their "partners."

Oracle is a major driving force behind those practices. I don't want to say anymore, I've prob already said too much but if you want to dig FB - focus on their advertising and specifically, Oracle.

I've read the material but my specialty isn't marketing, I do project mgmt.

Marketing and advertising is one of and will continue to be the biggest income generators for businesses. It's a huge and growing industry thanks for Oracle and FB. They have cornered the market and have taken over traditional marketing companies, even bigger than Google. FB controls like 70% of online marketing share (conservative number).

It's hard for someone on their own unless they are in an untapped market tho, if they want to do it I suggest getting a job at a marketing agency.
