COP IMPERSONATOR 'SENTENCED' TO '3 years deferred adjudication.'

 

>>The victims told police a white man driving a silver Ford Explorer pulled them over and showed a handgun, according to a news release. The victims were able to get the vehicle's license plate number and told officers the man used red and blue strobe lights during the traffic stop.

 

A short time later, an officer spotted the SUV and stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Loop 323 and South Broadway Avenue. Khristian Welch admitted to pulling over a vehicle after watching the victims run a red light, a news release stated.

“I mean it’s kind of surprising,” says Chief Dale Peterson. “They see we are volunteers and for somebody to take something that we use for our protection to help them out while fighting fires, it’s surprising that they would do that.”
