PERSONAL EXPERIENCE FACEBOOK & DNA
I am in my 50's, couple of years ago had some major health issues out of the blue. I'm adopted. The Dr,'s asked for any family history - I had none.
I did one of those DNA tests & found matches that led to B-Mom. I contacted her through mail.
I received an email from her attorney asking how I found her b/c she was upset. I did look her up on Facebook to see what she looked like & who she was.
She's very well connected to Hollywood, Banks, etc
After requesting a health history from the attorney, he contacts me stating she has no health history of significance to offer & I am to never contact her again b/c I was the product of rape & I made her upset.
I did not reply
About a month later I received an email again from the attorney to 'warn' me to quit looking her up on facebook, he stated I was 'popping up' on her feed & she was upset.
He then warned if this continued, they would file a restraining order
I responded 'What the fuck is her problem? I've done nothing wrong, I'm not trying to contact her again, I don't understand what you're talking about'
He responds by email ' Sorry, maybe she's overreacting, you & your children keep popping up on her facebook as friend suggestions'
Fast forward 2 months later, I get another attorney email stating if I didn't quit stalking Birth-mom, I would be sued for a lot of money
Well, I don't have 'a lot of money', I didn't know what the fuck he was talking about so I just deleted my facebook
Now in hindsight, the only people who knew of her connection to me was my husband - he read her attorney emails & said they could bury us financially if I were contacting her - I wasn't, he's the only one who knew
I deleted my facebook account as we couldn't afford a lawsuit - especially with me not working
My point is, besides me & my husband, no one knew she was the B-mom but Ancestry DNA.
How did Ancestry DNA know to connect me with her, not even in the same state, with no same friends?
Data must be shared between facebook & ancestry DNA, that's the only answer
As far as Hollywood, her daughter would be considered B-list, her friends , A-list
I'm an embarrassment, I get that, I'm a 'product of rape' but there is no way in hell facebook knew to connect the two of us other than Ancestry DNA
