You know, this is a wee bit out of hand. I was over at a place where, I shit you not, a kid was watching 'TV' on the refrigerator.

I really don't need bluetooth in a toothbrush or ads served up from my fucking toaster.

AMD seems to be a fairly integral company. Though one must wonder if AMD runs like they do on such a small market share and much smaller profit margin…. The hell is Intel doing with those profits?

I love technology, but because I am an electronics buff… I am also extremely suspicious of it.

I trust a well tested and designed "self driving" car within the confines of its programming and testing.

I long for the day when I can push a button on the highway and sit back to do some work on the computer or something of the sort. Not sure I would ever trust it enough to go to sleep, though.

But I'm not about to get to the point where we punch in an address and let the thing decide how we get there. "Hey, isn't that supposed to be on the other side of town, HAL?"

I am also thinking of stand-alone systems that don't communicate with a logging/tracking system. I don't trust the current version of things. When you can call up onstar and have them unlock your vehicle… Yeah, no…
