Ask yourself why would the fedgov spy and collect info on all of its citizens when there are so many foreigners who want to harm our country or interests? These guys turned into Communist China.
No…but IT employers are ageists. You won't have very many years before they'll want to replace you with someone half your age. At that point, you'll have to move to the fedgov or smaller companies.
It used to be that way but then companies started outsourcing. There are still a lot of older IT guys in the fedgov, federal contractors, and smaller companies which value maturity and experience over youthful inexperience. Some states have older IT workers but many are outsourcing that area too.
