Have they been testing agents in flu vaccines?

It’s the first time in almost a decade that I’ve been sick to this degree (other than itchy throat, cough) and a lot of people I know in multiple states have had sinus infections, ear infections, loss of smell, whooping cough, etc. Seems we all got sick around the same time (when people usually get vaccinated — November timeframe)
