Head of PM’s Office: Migration ‘central theme’ in EP election

Migration is the “most important topic” for the upcoming European parliamentary elections, Gergely Gulyás, the head of the Prime Minister’s Office, told a press conference on Thursday. Concerning migration with regard to Hungary, Gulyás said that Hungary’s border control prevents masses of migrants from attempting to enter the country illegally. “Since the border fence was built migrants have avoided Hungary, but if the government changed its policy, Hungary would be a migrant destination just the same,” he insisted. On another subject, Gulyás said that Hungary’s ruling Fidesz wants to stay a member of the European People’s Party (EPP). He said “attacks” against Fidesz from within the EPP had come “exclusively from parties that had supported mandatory migrant quotas” but added that “those parties are also important EPP members” and that “the EPP embraces many different opinions”.

3rd patient reportedly cured of HIV in incredible medical breakthrough

A third patient is said to have been cured of HIV in an amazing medical breakthrough. The news comes on the heels of the revelation that the second person ever is HIV-free following a bone marrow transplant.

It has been 12 years since the first HIV-cured patient was reported. On Monday, doctors announced a second patient is seemingly HIV-free, and just a day later, researchers from the Netherlands revealed a “Düsseldorf patient” is also HIV-free at the Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections in Seattle.

The Düsseldorf patient had a bone marrow transplant to treat cancer, the same as the other two patients said now to be HIV-free. After three months without taking his antiviral medication, gut and lymph nodes biopsies show no infectious HIV in his body.

The first patient ever said to have been cured of HIV was known as the “Berlin patient,” who in 2007 received a bone marrow transplant as part of treatment for leukaemia. He is still HIV free today.

On Monday, doctors revealed a second patient, called the “London patient,” had been off his antiviral medications for 18 months following his bone marrow transplant cancer treatment and had no signs of HIV.

The transplant involves killing almost all the immune cells and replacing them with donor cells, and is so risky it can only be carried out on people with cancer. In the Berlin and London cases, the donor carried a rare gene mutation that makes them more resistant to HIV – a virus that infects immune system cells made in the bone marrow.

“Now we know the first case wasn’t an anomaly, but is something that can be shared,”said lead researcher Ravindra Gupta.

At 36 years old, Allison Jones Rushing became one of the youngest individuals to serve as an appeals court judge this week, meaning she could spend decades there. The Trump nominee was confirmed to a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in Richmond, VA by a vote of 53-44.

It's quite a feat - but not one Democrats are celebrating. Several top lawmakers and Trump critics are wondering whether or not Rushing has enough experience to serve on such an important court. Rushing clerked for both then-Judge Neil Gorsuch on the Tenth Circuit from 2007-2008 and Supreme Justice Clarence Thomas from 2010-2011. She became a partner at the law firm Williams & Connolly in 2017.

As Federal Reserve Challenges Trump’s Economy, States Push Back With Laws Strangling Fiat Currency

While the Federal Reserve continues manipulating interest rates in what many consider moves designed to strangle President Donald J. Trump’s roaring economy, Kansas and other states are attempting to pass legislation that would strangle fiat currency.

Kansas House Representative Michael Capps introduced legislation HB 2285 forcing the state of Kansas to recognize precious metals, such as gold and silver, as an official currency within the state. This would keep these precious medals from being taxed at the state level, and allow Kansans to bypass the seemingly anti-Trump Federal Reserve by using an alternate currency for economic transactions and stores of wealth to protect their savings from Federal Reserve meddling.

This legislation comes as President Trump has sparred frequently with the Federal Reserve, which has began to raise its historically low interest rates only as the President Trump’s economy begins to soar. In December of last year, President Trump declared that “The only problem our economy has is the Fed,” and said they “don’t understand” the economic issues the nation currently faces.

Amid Rape Crisis, Finland Police Investigate Anti-Immigrant Group For Hunting Rapists, Pedophiles

As Finland experiences a massive rape crisis after receiving a massive influx of economic immigrants from the third world, Finnish police are now investigating an anti-immigration group for pledging to hunt “rapists and pedophiles” in a now-deleted video.

Finnish anti-immigration group Soldiers of Odin uploaded a video last month featuring masked men pledging to hunt and expose “rapists and pedophiles” within the country, which led to Finnish authorities opening an investigation into whether or not the video and pledge constitute hate speech against immigrant populations.

The group said it plans to create honeypot accounts posing as young girls, use them to lure pedophiles, and then report the individuals to authorities.
