It's kind of a false assumption. Airlines will essentially refuel like GasBuddy - they're going to refuel at the most cost effective place along their route. They're bean-counters, and they're good at their jobs.

 

Example: UPS will land aircraft overnight in different states/countries to avoid paying property taxes in high-tax states. They'll also schedule maintenance accordingly.

 

So, Denver fuel consumption may not be an accurate metric to measure.
