Multiple factors point towards reasons to doubt it:
-It is not a historical document. It's based on historical events, but there's a lot of things that can't or at least are not corroborated anywhere else.
-The lists are inconsistent
-You have no idea who wrote any of it down or how accurate they are to the original oral traditions.
-Until the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, the only version of the original that anyone had was tied to the New Testament.
Everything else is Romanized for the populace.
-The stories are stolen from other traditions, meaning that there is very little that is actually "Unique" to the old testament. Noah=Gilgamesh, for example.
-The world is demonstrably older than 6000 years.
-Jews did NOT build the Pyramids.
(Granted, it's also likely "The Egyptians as we know them" didn't even have the tech to do that or else they would have made more than just the piddly little satellite structures, but that's beside the point.)
-You wouldn't believe anyone who went to a place by themselves and said God talked to them and we need to base everything off of that experience they had.
