"Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous…*"
On Apr. 5, 2010, following the shuttle launch in Cape Canaveral, FL, I photographed this beautiful vapor cloud which resembled a serpent eating its tail. I didn't know why at the time, but I remember having a really good feeling about it and even posted photos of it online (autists can find it).
The serpent eating its tail (the "Ouroboros") is a very old symbol and like other archetypal symbols it has been interpreted to mean different things by different people across cultures, but in general, it symbolizes the life and death cycles of nature. The chrysopoeia ouroboros of Cleopatra the Alchemist is one of the oldest images of the ouroboros to be linked with the legendary opus of the alchemists, the philosopher's stone. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouroboros
When this image appeared in the sky for that brief moment back in 2010, it seemed (for me anyway) to have eminent significance, something hopeful about things to come. I remember thinking this is a really paradoxical feeling to have because it contrasted so sharply with the general bittersweet mood of everyone there watching the launch. After all, Hussein was POTUS and this launch was one of NASA's last few remaining shuttle missions before the orbiter fleet was to be retired later that year.
This image and all those positive feelings poured back over me again the other day when I saw Q's post, so for what it is worth, I thought I would share my experience with you all.
