Seeing the photo of the burning plantation style mansion on St. Charles St. brought back strong memories of Katrina.

Monitored it from afar, through the night. Watched the live Picayune cam until it went out. Saw the eye move east to Mobile. Sent message to family in the area saying all was good.

Only problem was the east winds blowing water into Lake Pontchartrain then winds from the north pushing water over the city north levees. Went to sleep thinking all is well.

Next day found disaster. There were over 20 breaks in levees all around the city. Caravan of 70 watermen from Lafayette with 70 flat-bottomed bayou boats, complete with trailers of fuel & spare parts arrived at the western city center and were stopped by FEMA, city and state cops.

They waited there 3 days while TV showed helicopter rescues of our black brothers and sisters from project roof tops one by one. Meanwhile, those white bayou watermen could have gotten them all out in one day but were told they would be arrested if they moved.

Then the capture of our black brothers & sisters in the Superdome. All for a show. Anon lb said it was another 9/11. Now says it was worse.

Anon requests, anon pleads, for a deep dig on Katrina/NOLA.
