The song "Zombie" has a profane interpretation – the violence in Northern Ireland – but it also has an esoteric/occult one. No one's going to believe me maybe, but she's singing about the third eye which is a big deal in the occult and in the music industry … but I repeat myself. "What's in your head, zombie?" is a double-entendre. Yeah, you can interpret it as the "zombies" have bad ideas in their heads that makes them commit violence. But she is also accusing us, the listeners, of being zombies, too, because we don't realize what's in our head, the third eye also known as a pineal or in some circles as a "cranberry" and why the powers that be are interested in it. "What's in your head, zombie?" she sings over and over. Can you hear it? She singing to us, trying to wake us up.
