Just adding my 2cents in here. I have a disabled child who was on some pretty major pain meds. (3 at once…. and muscle relaxants with it) I had to take him to a "pain management specialist" EVERY month. We had to time it right every month for him to get his meds - too early and we couldn't get his scripts; too late and he ran out. (The withdrawals were HORRID after he had surgery)
Anyways - After his insurance paid for his monthly piss test my portion of the bill was over $10k. Every.Single.Month. In 2016. One of his meds was >$750 every month for 60 pills. The surgery, all docs, week in the hospital, 5 wks in patient rehab, 3 mo out patient rehab, bone stimulator, braces and specialized equipment COMBINED was cheaper after ins than all the rest. How does that make sense?
My other son died of an OD. To say I want to see some of these people ruined would be an understatement.
