Saturdays in the mid-60s…
0630 - wake up, eat breakfast while watching cartoons
0745 - to back yard to play with brothers until kids show up at baseball diamond in school yard, walk across field to baseball diamond where 12-16 other kids are about to choose sides
0800 - play baseball
noon - lunch, only thing on is SoulTrain so watch for a bit trying to figure out what it's about.
1230 - back to baseball
1400 - break for water (from hose) and snack
1430 - Take fishing gear to baseball diamond, moar baseball until too hot, break for fishing
1545 - bored with fishing, play in water, small fights, explore deeper into woods, generally get into trouble
1730 - home for dinner
1830 - ff cooled down then more baseball, if not, 8-10 of you go to someone's house to play ping pong to creep on someone's older sister
1945 - almost dark, head home, play in back yard with brothers and a few friends, get into more trouble while listening to baseball on portable am radio
2030 - start putting up tent for backyard camping
2115 - fill tent with sleeping bags, flashlights, portable am radio, and snacks/water
2130 - fight with brothers and friends about who gets what place in tent, fight about theories on certain baseball players
2200 - inside for snack and to see what everyone's watching on TV, back to tent afterward
2300 - parents telling us to go to sleep so all in tent, listen to baseball if still playing, find station for music if not
2315 - forget about music, fights, send runners to other kids houses to recruit more kids for hide and seek
2330 - trip to river to look for monsters and maybe night fish, one kid brings a warm beer or cigar. Have a sip of beer and puff of cigar, puke, head back to tent
0030 - kids start falling off or heading home. Look at stars, swear you saw UFO, get into argument
0100 - fall asleep outside tent
0300 - was up outside tent, the a wiz, go in tent and back to sleep
0300 - wake up outside tent, take a wiz, go back in tent and back to sleep.
