Given how devoid of empathy these ppl are, I think it's less about how they feel along a fairness angle then it is about magic only working if there's a conduit that has a receiving end.
Think of these three examples:
1) Both plumbing and electricity work via free-flowing bits moving thru a closed-circuit conduit, respectively: water molecules thru a pipe, or electrons along a metal wire. No matter how many of those bits you force in thru the entry, if the exit is blocked, no flow occurs.
2) the vampire metaphor that he (evil) has no power unless invited over the threshold. They can't do us wrong unless we allow it.
3) when trained in use legal fire-arms for personal protection, you're told you MUST verbally warn the would-be assailant that you're armed, and tell him to stop and not come any closer. Bc only then are you unambiguously legally indemnified. Since you notified the other person of the consequence & the condition on which it would be meted, he implicitly agrees to said consequence by continuing under said condition.
I think that's what their symbolism means: "we tell you that when you watch this video or purchase this product or elect this official, you accept the consequence of evil acts a, b, c … etc."
They don't think of it as "fairness," they're just dirty-dealing, loop-holing the system in order to meet the minimum requirements the Universe/God sets for how energy exchange works – in this case the energy of trust between persons, and the individual gating mechanism of free will in how to give and receive it.
Just as "ignorance of the law is no excuse," works, or all the fine-print in those user agreements no one reads cuz who the hell can understand legalese unless "lawfag here,", the Cabal says, "Hey, it's not our fault if you're too stupid to understand what you read – we wrote it, you read it, contract is officially in place. Get rekt."
And we do. We have. Willingly. We don't consciously decide to participate in evil directly, but we do consciously decide to stay ignorant of how it works, which is all it takes.
