I think this was mostly a concerted effort by the clowns to split the mod team. ie-

1) create conditions where anons were exposing each other to friendly fire

2) clamor for bans against anons

3) squeaky wheel gets the grease and BV commits some legit bans, but also some freindlyfire

4) once this happened the clowns concern was astroturfed against the mods to see what BO would do, and if BO would boot a mod.

That was the first steps. The next step would have been trying to astroturf concern around BO himself, If he had fired a mod.

And I think it failed because the BO/BV's stayed united, and a solution was found that the astroturfers could not turn around and bitch about, without outing themselves a-la beating a dead horse.

And thus, the clowns failed because WWGOWGA.

I could be wrong, but I was present for the whole drama episode, and that's how I read it.

Finding workarounds is not the answer.

Snuffing out civil rights abuses at the root, is the only answer.

If you control the dialogue, you control the narrative. By definition this means working around the censorship problem hands them control of the narrative on a silver platter.

I personally am not interested in band aids anymore. We need to fix this from the ground up.
