My family are members of DAR. On both my Father's and Mothers side. Relatives of John and John Quincy on Father's side. His Grandmother was the last in the Adams lineage. She had all sisters, no males to continue the name. When I was in elementary school, my class visited the Smithsonian American History. In the first ladies exhibit, my Mother's crystal punch bowl on pedistal was on display. She lent it to the Smithsonian. I had no idea that punch bowl belonged to Abigail Adams granddaughter. ...and I used to get in trouble playing basketball in our dining room using it as a basket! I wondered where it went!
My Mother is related to King Carter of Virginia and her relatives came over on the Mayflower.
My sister is carrying on the family DAR. Daughters of the American Revolution Hall is something where I didn't appreciate it when I should have. I didn't visit there, but I did visit the old Executive House, where Uncle Teddy and family lived when VP.
I used to play at the Governors Mansion with the Agnew kids when Uncle Teddy was Governor of Maryland . He had alot of kids.
My Christian Godfather was Governor Williamc Donald Schaefer of Maryland. He held many hats in political offices in Maryland.
I've seen alot. I wouldn't change a thing
