the concept of 'hispanic' is a made up idea.

People don't see them selves as that unless they are talking politics in the United States.

They think of themselves as 'Mexican' or 'Dominican' or 'venezuelan' and usually in their own language in their mind.

the idea of 'hispanic' was created to make a demographic for political purposes.

in reality no one thinks like that except when they are talkign politics.

they will call themselves Costa Rican or Argentinian or Chilean.

it's a made up idea that only means something in the concept of American Politics.

and only when people are thinking politically do they ever use that term to refer to themselves.

you don't agree? why not?

I searched for a meaning of 'checked' and found one that seemed to say it was used to strongly disagree and 'put one in their place.' Glad that isn't how you used it!

Thank you for clarifying. Your use makes more sense.
