An unfortunate truth but are we really surprised? People knew from the beginning that FB had privacy issues but most turned a blind eye and just enjoyed the mindless self-indulgence.

I couldn't believe how quickly "alexa" caught on. That people would willingly and blatantly wiretap their own home. Having a personal AI assistant is cool and all but not at that cost.

When I confronted people about this the most common response I'd get is "I have nothing to hide so there's nothing to worry about." HAH

Lack of grassroots organization. Plus the self reassurance that "everything is being taken care of." If Q team and POTUS has it all handled, we just have to sit back and enjoy the show, right?

I would argue that a smartphone counts too. Considering the FB app monitors you even when you're not using it and even when the app is uninstalled. If FB does it, who's to say that every other big social media app doesn't too.

No, that's too sudden. I've found that people are much more likely to be convinced of something that they themselves "discovered". So I will slip subtle hints/facts into conversations with encouragement to do further research on their own time.

The best feeling is to see someone the next day after they go down a rabbithole, how excited and animated they are to share what they've found. Little do they know that I already know everything they're telling me (I don't mention this, it kills their excitement).
