Even though your comment is somewhat comforting, I'm not sure that evil will completely destroy itself without good people standing up. By this, Satan will destroy himself? Man is not capable of destroying a Spirit such as Satan (Lucifer) from existence. My thinking is that God, Himself, has the only power for that.
Scripture tells us that after the first resurrection, Satan is chained for 1000 years and then loosed again for the final battle.
