Q 2913

Anons are in agreement [?] that the watch reads:

3:41:53

Additional notes on accuracy of this type of watch:

Reset time instructions included in IWC manual stipulates to wait for the second hand to pass the 60 sec mark. Next, gently move the minute hand backwards to the correct minute stroke. The minute hand then begins to move when the reset button is pressed into its normal position. Winding the watch is also stipulated with 20 winds recommended for best accuracy. Note that resting the watch as shown in Q Post 2913 will speed-up the mechanism, ever so slightly - overnight, for example.

As in during sleeps between watches? See the night watch, navy.

Based on the watch manual, it would appear that this timepiece is nearing the point where it can be reset. The second hand is approaching the 60 second mark. When it passes, the crown is pulled out to stop the movement, then, the minute hand is gently moved backward to the desired minute marker.

The watch reads 3:41:53 but this may be moments before it was reset to 3:41? Alternatively, the minute hand could be reset by winding backward almost the entire way around to 3:42. So ambiguity on the minute hand?

Note that there is a 68-hour power reserve when it has been fully wound. That's 2 days and 20 hours.

>If you or another anon would like this noted, could someone post sauce for the claim? ty -b

Baker, the claim can be restated in the affirmative based on the details highlighted in the earlier graphic (also attached here). The claim was stated as a question in search of confirmation by Anons reviewing that graphic. The reading seems self-evident but confirmation(s) are welcomed and may be notable.

Another point of observation on the watch face: the crown is not pulled out. Whether this watch was about to be reset by its owner is not known for certain. This timepiece can be very accurate, if reset as per the manual, but can loose time under normal conditions even while worn on the wrist most of the day. But it is not a yuge loss of accuracy. The Q post said the clock is ticking but the chronograph is not in use, apparently, when the photo was taken.

Cheers, Baker

DEC and MAR each had 31 days.

FEB had 28 days this year.

The date, then, would have been reset thrice for the start of each of these past three months. The date in Q 2913 is Mar 2, 2019 and the time stamp is 3:54:51 PM. If the image was taken at the time on the watch face (3:41:53), before being reset, there would have been enough time to take the photo and to reset the watch and subsequently send the image. The interval would have been 10 minutes.
