Masonry has (and has had) many good apples, based on my limited outside research (and family).
It is unfortunate, though, that there appear to be organizations within Masonry which have abused the principles, the confidentiality, and the trust, for activities of highly questionable moral character. It certainly has made me think twice about asking to approach the door and knock.
