Lawyer fees depend in how far it goes in litigation.

The ‘Class’ gets a few bucks if they can show damages or are names (ie the massive lists of shadowbanned). It splits by the number in the class (usually very broad). Class representatives get more, there are fewer of those.

In CA law, there are more lenient classes and damages types (punitive etc.), but…

Changing the behavior is the goal. That definitely happens.

It costs nothing to be in the class, it costs a little time to be a class rep. They take some time 2-3 years, but behavior is checked fast - at first notice usually.

On contingency, lawyers take a % of the coass action award when it’s won. That’s sizable and why they do it.

Contingency lawyers would prefer ‘deep pockets’ - those that monetize like YouTube or FB. Awards are higher and lawyers make more if you can show damages.

The threat of one can have a curbing effect too.

With Twatter, I was thinking the best way to curb their censorship is to go through @FEC for undisclosed in-kind campaign contributions?

Or, declare them a public utility or other via @FTC hitting their satellite contracts with US for compliance.

I think the fact that their behavior qualifies as an undisclosed campaign contribution put it into ‘state actor’ influencing elections territory.
