I was compelled to write this. It's not great but, eh, what the heck.
Mighty and loud voices over 200 years old,
Once decried freedom with no fears and bold,
Across the world it's shout was heard,
As they slipped the bonds of a tyrants word,
As the years passed their voices waned,
Then evil crept in and with darkness profaned,
The sanctity of their country, freedom and homes,
So that now the darkness freely roams.
A sirens song of many long years
Concealed the pain, concealed the fears,
Of voices once loud but now in anguished silence,
For fear of appearing too unruly or prone to violence,
But the darkness with its evil plots
Never thought we'd connect the dots
Nor bring to light their fell and foul deeds
With all the sickness that their darkness breeds
The truth will always win the day
To break the hold of evils sway
The sleeper has awoken he is at the door
With a mighty shout, the silent majority is silent no more.
