There WAS no "Bible" until the sun-worshipping Roman emperor Constantine brought many of the most popular Christian sects together and forced them to get their stories straight. Many books were considered for inclusion, but only those which united all the strands of the faith made the cut. That really doesn't mean that the omitted books were "pop-fiction." It only means they were divisive.
