perhaps i look too far ahead, but what troubles me is the way we all seem to pretend that once the trials are over, everything will be fine.

what is our forward path? how do we get, and then keep, the necessary transparency to keep these things from happening again?

there are too many who act like the light will shine and everything wll be pure. it won't.

capitalism works because it acknowledges greed.

we need a system of government that acknowledges corruption and lust for power. a system that makes back room deals visible.

we also need a citizenry that sees things for what they are. who understands that compromise is the order of the day and that morals can't be lawed into existence.

this is a discussion that needs to be happening. what happens when the war is over? how do we keep our victory from being subverted again?
