3. authority - you have to follow authentic authorities, and check them, and re-check them. But there are some things which are best learned from specialists who have spent their lives thinking and learning on particular topics. Not blindedly.

Learning from others is a must; and leaven whatever you learn with your own judgment and "discrimination" Sorting good from bad.

1. humility; readiness to listen & admit when you are wrong.

Learn to accept ignorance;

if you don't really know something, be unafraid to admit it. Don't pretend knowledge, especially without examining one's own assumption -

Reflecting.

It takes time for some thing to be revealed. we have to be ready and willing to learn things that are uncomfortable, perhaps. Some things become clear only after reflection over time.
