Depends on when the failure was known.

If Boeing has performed a nonconformance investigation this quickly (possible with the shit hitting the fan the way it is) then they may have just discovered it.

Preventive/Corrective action would require ALL planes with like instruments to be grounded until repairs/replacements and effectiveness checks were performed.

 

If Boeing has had issues with the same instrumentation and no corrective/preventative actions were taken, then Boeing is fucked.
