Georgia Woman Arrested for Conspiring to Provide Material Support to ISIS

Kim Anh Vo, a.k.a. “F@ng,” a.k.a. “SyxxZMC,” a.k.a. “Zozo,” a.k.a. “Miss.Bones,” a.k.a. “Sage Pi,” a.k.a. “Kitty Lee,” was arrested this morning in Hephzibah, Georgia. Vo was charged by a criminal Complaint with conspiring to provide material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), a designated foreign terrorist organization. Vo is expected to be presented later today before Magistrate Judge Brian K. Epps in Augusta, Georgia, federal court.

Autopsy: George Foreman's Daughter Died By Suicide in Texas

A Texas medical examiner confirms that Freeda George Foreman, the daughter of former heavyweight champion George Foreman, died by suicide.

Emergency crews found the 42-year-old woman while responding to a suburban Houston home on Friday. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences listed her official cause of death on its website Tuesday.

George Foreman tweeted Sunday night: "First Sunday in 42 years without my Freeda. She's With her maker now."

Arkansas physician-assisted suicide bill fails before panel

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. —

A proposal to allow physicians to prescribe lethal doses of drugs to terminally ill patients who want to end their lives has failed before an Arkansas House panel.

The proposal by Republican Rep. Dan Douglas failed before the House Public Health Committee on Tuesday after it didn't receive a motion to send the bill to the chamber floor. Douglas' bill would have added an exception to the state's ban on physician-assisted suicide.

Army captain, son-in-law of SC principal, died in Ethiopia crash ‘doing what he loved’

United States Army Capt. Antoine Lewis was one of the 157 people who died when an Ethiopian Airlines flight crashed outside Addis Ababa. His mother-in-law, a South Carolina elementary school principal, said Lewis “wanted to live his life to its fullest and was executing plans to tour Africa and reconnect with his roots,” according to WCBD.

Lewis, a Chicago-area native, was based in Ottowa, Canada, with the Army, The Chicago Tribune reports. He lived in Ottowa with his 15-year-old son. Lewis’s wife is also with the Army and based in Washington D.C., according to the newspaper.

Chief executive who built up Avast to retire

Vince Steckler, the long-time chief executive of Avast who helped to develop the cyber security company, is to retire, overshadowing its first annual results since listing last May.

Steckler, 60, will step aside at the end of June after 10 years in the top job. He will be succeeded by Ondrej Vlcek, who joined the company as a teenager and is currently president of the company's consumer business.

Steckler said that he will step back for family and personal reasons, adding that he has no plans of going back to an executive role in a company.

Beware the Ides of March –Will Superseding come down this Friday?

File this in the category of pure speculation – but Friday is the Ides of March.

And Friday seems to be the day when the DOJ likes to arrest people – maybe because it hauls people into jail over the weekend. Allison Mack was arrested on Friday and spent four days in jail before she made bail.

And Monday, March 18th, is the day the defendants and the prosecution will appear again before Judge Nicholas G. Garaufis.

On February 28, during the last status conference before Judge Garaufis, Assistant US Attorney Moira Penza told the Court there would be a superseding indictment coming in the next few weeks.

My guess is Friday, March 15 – the Ides of March – the day of the ancient Roman deadline for settling debts, and the day the tyrant, Julius Caesar, though reportedly warned to beware this date, met his end through assassination via summary prosecution of the Senate.

Hoping to fuel the next crop of young voters, state lawmakers filed bills that would allow 17-year-olds to vote in some primary elections if they are going to turn 18 before the general election. The 17-year-olds would only be allowed to vote for state and county offices — not in federal races, such as U.S. congressional or presidential elections.
