I can't believe the Boeing flight system wouldn't use AOA as a baseline and compare against momentary pitch changes, if you are climbing at a constant rate and suddenly your AOA shows massive angle change and the system pitches down to correct, there should be a mix of info, like altitude rate of climb, if it's within spec then you can't be at a critical AOA, it would be on the verge of a stall I would guess. Something fishy.
