US judge sentences Manafort to 73 months in prison

President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort has been sentenced by a federal judge to 73 months behind bars for two conspiracy charges. Last week, he was sentenced for another term over tax and bank fraud.

Manafort appeared in a Washington, DC courtroom in a wheelchair on Wednesday, asking the judge for leniency. The “case has taken everything from me already” the 69-year-old lawyer said.

“I am sorry for what I have done and all the activities that have gotten us here today,” Manafort told the court. “While I cannot undo the past, I will ensure that the future will be very different.”

Manafort Indicted by Commie New York Prosecutors Minutes After Federal Sentencing

New York prosecutors indicted Paul Manafort Wednesday just moments after his federal sentencing by Judge Amy Berman Jackson was handed down.

President Trump cannot pardon Manafort for potential state crimes so this was a message from the Communists that if Trump dare pardon Manafort, they will get him somehow.

The 16 charges unveiled by Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance relate to mortgage fraud, conspiracy and falsifying business records, CNBC reported.

Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr. today announced the indictment of PAUL MANAFORT, 69, for a yearlong residential mortgage fraud scheme through which MANAFORT and others falsified business records to illegally obtain millions of dollars. MANAFORT is charged in a New York State Supreme Court indictment filed on March 7, 2019, with Residential Mortgage Fraud in the First Degree, Attempted Residential Mortgage Fraud in the First Degree, Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree, Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree, and Scheme to Defraud in the First Degree.[1]

“No one is beyond the law in New York,” said District Attorney Vance. “Following an investigation commenced by our Office in March 2017, a Manhattan grand jury has charged Mr. Manafort with state criminal violations which strike at the heart of New York’s sovereign interests, including the integrity of our residential mortgage market. Corrupt Obama-appointed Judge Amy Berman Jackson sentenced Paul Manafort to an additional 43 months prison time Wednesday in the Washington DC case for his Ukrainian lobbying efforts.

Judge Berman Jackson sentenced Manafort to 60 months in prison on one of the two counts, however, he will serve 30 of the months concurrently with his prior sentence.

The judge sentenced Manafort to 13 months on his second criminal count.

‘Revolver, crossbow, Molotovs’: At least 10 dead in school shooting in Brazil’s Sao Paulo

At least 10 people were killed in a school shooting in Brazil’s Sao Paulo state, law enforcement has confirmed. The suspects are believed to be two teenagers, who shot themselves after the rampage.

The deadly incident occurred on in the city of Suzano located in the southeastern Brazilian state of Sao Paulo on Wednesday.

The Military Police confirmed on Twitter that 10 people were dead and 10 others injured after the shooting. It did not elaborate on how many children died during the incident or whether the attackers were included in the figure. The tweet, however, has later been deleted.

The attack was carried out by two “armed and hooded” teenagers, according to police. Local media reported that they turned their weapons on themselves after killing several students and at least one adult. 23 other people were injured.

A .38 revolver, a crossbow with arrows, as well as several Molotov cocktails and a “wired suitcase” were found by police at the scene. One of the attackers was armed with a firearm, while another wielded a knife, local media reported, citing eyewitnesses.

Germany Refuses To Take Black Boxes As FAA Rejects Canada's Boeing 737 Ban As "Inconclusive"

Update (1:25 pm ET): Having already noted that the US has quietly pushed to be the nation that analyzes the black boxes from the Ethiopian Airlines crash, an Ethiopian Airlines spokesman said flight recorders from the jet will be sent to a European country for analysis because Ethiopia lacks the technology to examine them.

However, AP reports that a spokesman for Germany's Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation is telling The Associated Press that the agency was asked by Ethiopian authorities to analyze the black boxes from Sunday's plane crash but declined because it lacked the necessary software.

Spokesman Germout Freitag said Wednesday that he doesn't know where the black boxes will be sent next.

French MPs approve anti-riot bill amid Yellow Vest protests, rights watchdog sounds alarm

The upper house of the French parliament has greenlighted a bill giving police broad powers to quell unrest. It comes as a rights watchdog warned of civil liberties being undermined in France due to crackdowns on protest.

Following hours of tense debate on Tuesday, the French Senate approved an anti-hooligan ('anti-casseurs') bill by a margin of 210 votes to 115.

The bill has courted widespread controversy, having been denounced as "liberticide" by the left, and hailed as a "the law of protections" by the French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner.

The government insists that the legislation will allow to distinguish between law-abiding protesters and violent rioters, while providing protection for both law enforcement and Yellow Vest demonstrators. Speaking ahead of the vote on Tuesday, Castaner defended the bill, saying that it "safeguards the right to demonstrate," while brushing off concerns that it encroaches on civil freedoms.

"This text does not include an ounce of arbitrariness," he said.

His view has not been shared by many among the opposition.

Senator Jerome Durain of the center-left Socialist Party (PS) slammed the draft as "useless, imprecise and dangerous," arguing that it will only foment the unrest.

"The dramatization of the situation does not serve anyone," Durain said.

The bill, which was first introduced in parliament last year, has already received backing from the National Assembly, France's lower house. While the National Assembly overwhelmingly supported the bill in February, the vote saw an unprecedented number of abstentions within French President Emmanuel Macron's own La Republique En Marche (LREM) party. Some 50 LREM lawmakers chose not to approve the bill and one MP, Matthieu Orphelin, went as far as to desert the party ranks altogether in the wake of the vote.

Many took issue with the provisions of the bill that prohibit protesters from wearing masks at rallies and allow police to single out and ban certain "troublemakers" from attending the 'acts.'

Lisa Page claims FBI agent Peter Strzok joined Mueller investigation with impeachment, promotion in mind

Former FBI attorney compared Russian-collusion probe with Watergate scandal

Former FBI attorney Lisa Page told congressional investigators last year that Peter Strzok — a senior FBI agent in the probes into the Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump campaigns — joined special counsel Robert Mueller's team because if it resulted in impeachment it could be good for his career.

Page and Strzok had been engaged in an affair during the time the Mueller probe was launched. Strzok was later fired from the FBI.

What are the details?

According to recently released transcripts of her testimony before the House Judiciary Committee, Page explained that Strzok initially had reservations about joining the Mueller team because if it didn't result in anything material it could delay his upward mobility within the FBI.

Answering questions from Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas), Page said Strzok's line of reasoning was, "If this is going to fizzle out and be nothing, then I shouldn't sort of sacrifice my sort of long-term career prospects. If it's going to end in impeachment, that's kind of a big deal. I mean, put aside who it is, put aside how we feel about it. You know, that's monumental."

"People who are on Watergate are still known as somebody who was on Watergate," Page added.

In spite of text exchanges between Page and Strzok where they both expressed their personal dislike of President Trump, Page insisted Strzok was not pursuing the investigation because of any political bias.

"And so that's not sort of taken with respect to the, you know, feelings about Donald Trump," she told the committee. "It's about being on an unbelievably kick-ass team and being a part of, you know, something impressive."

Earlier in the transcript, Page confirms sending a text to Strzok related to their roles in investigating then-candidate Trump in August 2016, where she told Strzok, "Maybe you're meant to stay where you are because you're meant to protect the country from that menace." Page admitted to the committee that the menace she was referring to was Donald Trump.

In her testimony, Page also explained that she considered the possibility of the Trump campaign colluding with Russia to be a much bigger deal than Clinton's mishandling of top-secret government information while she was secretary of state.

"The Clinton investigation was whether she mishandled classified information. That's important," Page said. "It matters, but it does not matter like a person associated with a presidential campaign receiving and potentially accepting, which we don't know, obviously, but the risk that somebody had received and accepted an offer of assistance from Russia, which I view as our sort of most treacherous adversary."

Grand Jury Filing Over Use of Explosives on 9/11 ‘Names Names’ of Who May Have Blown Up Towers

A bombshell grand jury filing was announced this week naming those who had access to WTCs before 9/11 and those who benefited from their destruction.

As TFTP reported, a monumental step forward in the relentless pursuit of 9/11 truth took place in December when a United States Attorney agreed to comply with federal law requiring submission to a Special Grand Jury of evidence that explosives were used to bring down the World Trade Centers. Now, the group behind the submission, the Lawyers’ Committee for 9/11 Inquiry, announced the filing of a “petition supplement” naming persons who may have information related to the use of said explosives.

According to Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, the 33-page document contains 15 different categories of persons who may have information material to the investigation, including contractors and security companies that had access to the WTC Towers before 9/11, persons and entities who benefited financially from the WTC demolitions, and persons arrested after being observed celebrating the WTC attacks.

A names-redacted version of the petition supplement, which was filed with the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York on February 14, 2019, has been made available to the public. The un-redacted version filed with the U.S. Attorney today will remain undisclosed in the interest of maintaining the secrecy, security, and integrity of the grand jury proceeding.

As TFTP reported in December, for the first time since 9/11 the federal government is taking steps to prosecute the the use of explosives to destroy the world trade centers.

The Lawyers’ Committee for 9/11 Inquiry successfully submitted a petition to the federal government demanding that the U.S. Attorney present to a Special Grand Jury extensive evidence of yet-to-be-prosecuted federal crimes relating to the destruction of three World Trade Center Towers on 9/11 (WTC1, WTC2 and WTC7).

After waiting months for the reply, the U.S. Attorney responded in a letter, noting that they will comply with the law.

“We have received and reviewed The Lawyers’ Committee for 9/11 Inquiry, Inc.’s submissions of April 10 and July 30, 2018. We will comply with the provisions of 18 U.S.C. § 3332 as they relate to your submissions,” U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman stated.

According to the petition, dozens of exhibits were presented as evidence that explosives were, in fact, used to destroy all three world trade centers.

The Lawyers’ Committee’s April 10th 52-page original Petition was accompanied by 57 exhibits and presented extensive evidence that explosives were used to destroy three WTC Towers on 9/11. That evidence included independent scientific laboratory analysis of WTC dust samples showing the presence of high-tech explosives and/or incendiaries; numerous first-hand reports by First Responders of seeing and hearing explosions at the World Trade Center on 9/11; expert analysis of seismic evidence that explosions occurred at the WTC towers on 9/11 both prior to the airplane impacts and prior to the building collapses; and expert analysis and testimony by architects, engineers, and scientists concluding that the rapid onset symmetrical near-free-fall acceleration collapse of these three WTC high rise buildings on 9/11 exhibited the key characteristics of controlled demolition. The July 30th Amended Petition included the same evidence but also addressed several additional federal crimes beyond the federal bombing crime addressed in the original Petition.

German Conservatives demand Merkel’s resignation

The conservative wing of the CDU/CSU push for Angela Merkel’s resignation citing the believed impending collapse of the Grand Coalition with the Social Democrats(SPD).

Alexander Mitsch, the leader of the conservative group within the Union, openly asks Merkel to resign her position in favor of the newly elected leader of the CDU Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer.

“It would be in the best interest of the Union if Mrs. Merkel would hand over control to Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer as soon as possible in an orderly fashion.”

The CDU-leader could then initiate the political change for migration and economic policies needed by Germany, according to him.

He believes after state elections in the East in which the SPD is projected to perform poorly, will lead to an exit of the Grand Coalition by them.

To prepare for this scenario Mitsch wants the CDU to be proactive in the call for a change in the chancellery.

Just Friday several SPD-politicians threatened to exit the coalition if there was an attempt to replace Merkel with Kramp-Karrenbauer.

On Thursday leaders from both parties will meet again in a coalition committee.

Former NYPD Commissioner Calls for Obstruction Investigation into Clinton Email Probe

Former NYPD Commissioner Benard Kerik warned Wednesday that Americans will “never have faith” in the U.S. government until the FBI’s handling of the Hillary Clinton email probe is investigated for obstruction of justice.

Kerik’s remarks came in response to transcripts showing former FBI legal counsel Lisa Page testified to Congress that the Department of Justice ordered the FBI not to charge Clinton with “gross negligence” for mishandling classified information.

Many children feared dead, trapped as school building collapses in Nigeria

A three-story building collapsed on a primary school in Lagos, Nigeria shortly after the day’s classes had begun, sparking fears that many children were killed or are trapped beneath the rubble.

The collapse happened at around 10am local time on Wednesday. The latest reports based on eyewitness testimony indicate that at least eight children have been pulled from the rubble so far as rescue workers scramble to save lives. Many more are feared dead, as the school is believed to have as many as 100 pupils.

Hundreds of concerned residents flooded the area in the immediate aftermath of the collapse as rescue workers began removing rubble.

"It is believed that many people including children are currently trapped in the building," Ibrahim Farinloye, spokesman for the National Emergency Management Agency, said as cited by Reuters.

The building contained residential apartments on the other two floors, and the cause of the collapse remains unclear.
