Quick search shows the Navy P8 is based on the 737-800ERX. ERX is NEXT GEN, not MAX. MAX is to replace NEXT GEN. C40 Clipper is a 737, but older model.
It interesting, they grounded the MAX 8 and 9. Boeing also makes a MAX 7 and 10. The 10 looks new, as the Boeing website has it on their webpage as 'introducing' the MAX 10.
Also not, black boxes from crash were sent to Germany, no fuckery there I'm sure.
