Every time I see the FBI appearing to act on behalf of the DS when digging a little deeper it always turns out that there is evidence of POTUS/Q directing the FBI in a way so as to make the DS believe they have control when they don't.

Yes, you are saying that if said BO "former aid" believed that the FBI was still under DS control then the DS must, in fact, retain control of the FBI. Is it not plausible that said "former aid" was mistaken?
