Try using save page we (add-on), for example.

At least thumbnails will then be embedded in the HTML.

If you expand images before saving, the expanded version will be embedded.

FWIW, in the news this morning they said facebook themselves claimed they didn't know what it was that caused the outage, but it was not a Denial of Service attack.

There's archives for all previous breads (before /QR/) at least incl. thumbnails.

For /QR/ there's probably even more (incl. private) archives.
