All correct as stated, except the "sealed indictments" thing. The tracked number we keep hearing about is actually sealed court proceedings of all kinds, with indictments only being a (possibly very small) part of it.

We have to this day no idea if there are actually any more sealed indictments than usual. We don't even know if the number of sealed proceedings is abnormal, because no-one has bothered to compare with the year before.! Seriously, the anons tracking indictments didn't think it was necessary, and no-one else has done it either.

The "30+ times more than usual" you mention is comparing apples and pears - indictments for a previous year, and proceedings for this time period. It is an invalid argument, and we shouldn't use it.

But as I said, the rest of your post is good.
