Another scare to shift the narrative away from good news to terror and fear.
Good news make people feel better and energised and hopeful.
This has to be smashed by stories that render them unable to help themselves and scare them back into submission; making them again believe that only experts, MSM and other institutions can help them to survive the new threat.
