Looks like the DNS info and how to modify a hosts file is dead linked (others tools top bread). Seems to me it would be critical to keep this updated. fyi.

Linux hosts file @

/etc/hosts

 

Windows hosts file @

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

 

Older MAC hosts file @

/private/etc/hosts

 

Newer MAC hosts file @

/etc/hosts

 

Mac and Linux require sudo/root access to these files, and windows requires admin acces (usually the primary device account has that access). Copy / paste to add the domains listed above to the end of the hosts file. Make sure that the commented lines are only used one at a time. If the primary uncommented domain goes dead you can switch to one the commented ones as needed make sure to add # to comment the dead one. Sometimes a reboot is necessary to make the updates to the file active.
