ATLANTA - Authorities have managed to get a naked man off of a roof in Midtown after an hours-long SWAT standoff.
Channel 2 Action News has been following this story since it began early Friday morning, and we were there when police took him into custody without incident.
Police blocked off two streets in Midtown around 5 a.m. while SWAT officers tried to talk a man down from the roof of a home.
We're talking to police about how they were able to end the standoff safely, for Channel 2 Action News at 6 p.m.
The man was perched on the roof of a home on the 300 block of 4th Street in Midtown.
Argonne Avenue was blocked between Ponce de Leon Avenue and 5th Street, and 4th Street was blocked between Penn Avenue and Durant Place, while negotiators spoke with the man, according to Atlanta police.
Channel 2's Tyisha Fernandes was at the scene, where officers brought the man down around 2:20 p.m.
Police are working to reopen roads.
