America used to be the best steel maker in the world. In WW2, the steel armor used on the Iowa battleships lb for lb was the strongest and best in the world, even better than German steel. I remember reading about this and also reading that when Reagan had the battleships retrofitted, upgrading/moving the armor around proved to be impossible because we couldn't make that kind of quality steel armor anymore.

If most of the world can't match out current level of steel (talking about China) and even Japan is busy frauding it up in terms of steel quality imagine how amazing American ingeniuty and workers were back then circa WW2.

How about we bring back the steel industry full scale and make it even better with modern technology and good application of the amazing American spirit.

Yup, and it is designed exactly for the people who are most malleable.
