Here's something interesting I just happened upon:

The Q Document

The Q Document is a hypothetical document which some scholars suspect was used as a source for the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of Luke. This book will discuss the reason some scholars believe Q existed and what they believe Q might have looked like. It will also include the reasons that some scholars doubt the existence of the Q Document. Finally, the book will include those portions of the Gospel of Luke which are suspected to have been copied from the Q Document.

In order to better develop of a feel for what Q might have look liked, you should read over those portions of the Gospel of Luke which are believed to have been copied from Q. Among scholars, Luke's use of Q is considered to be the more reliable.

In doing so, you should be aware that the reconstruction presented here is only one of many possible such reconstructions. While there is wide agreement on the overall contents of Q, the exact contents remain lost.

The contents presented here, for example, are probably fragmentary– Q might well have contained passages that only Luke or Matthew quoted, but not both. Q might also have contained passages which neither author quoted. Similarly, it's conceivable Q contained passages which all three synoptic gospels quoted. Finally, there is some disagreement about how close two passages need to be in order to be considered "parallel".

Similarly, many many English translations of the New Testament exist– the translation used is just one of many.

That said, despite the choice of translation and the selection of verses, reading over the text should provide a basic feel for aphorisitic "sayings gospel" character of Q.
