First thing is he was trying to be obvious. The head straps are goddamn annoying and if you have ever used them and looked at your footage afterward, like this it makes viewers want to punk. Plus you look like a fucking retard wearing them also, and they are annoying as shit and get in the way of everything, could potentially lose shot by getting camera caught on something and tweaking it so your view is no longer captured. Mostly because of motion sickness.
He live streamed it.. news reports say version he had? Keep in mind he would have to link all this shit up and mess w it enough to not have it fail on him. Notorious is gopro cameras not working for badass footage when they should have. GOpros are also super buggie, and he would have had to have BADASS wifi or cell service to stream. Rich footage takes a hell of a lot of data to pull it off (possible military grade equipment if it wasnt choppy &/or all supporting items and battery life on everything is important too).
