Sparrow Red
Have been looking at Q posts from last year. I finally got around to watching 'Red Sparrow' the movie (didn't know that was a thing).
Holy Cow! This thing should be required viewing. For starters, the book was written by Jason Matthews, an ex-CIA operative. It chronicles the doings of a not-quite-fictitious Russian 'sparrow', who is clearly modeled after real life Anya Kushchyenko / Anna Chapman.
Everything surrounding this gal is suspicious: Nabbed in a sting in 2010 leading a double-life in America (think The Amerikans), then traded along with 9 other Russians for 4 spies the Russians were holding –including Sergei Skripal – whom she already apparently had earlier dealings with. First husband (English) wound up mysteriously dead about the same time Skripal was poisoned. She was supposedly sent to 'seduce' Snowden around 2013 / 2014, although the official claim is he was not interested. Had a kid in 2015 whom we know nothing about.
Her character in the movie played a double-agent who worked her way up the food chain through sheer will and deceit. She helped sting a US govt. worker in London who traded illicit files on disk for a bag of cash. She seduced a US operative in Hungary, and had a chance to be extracted to the US but didn't take it.
I love how Q drops hints to us about what has been going on, whether it is Red October, or Hackers, or Red Sparrow.
