The SIS has warned businesses and public officials to be on alert after a foreign spy tried to infiltrate high levels of Government and sensitive New Zealand industries.

The hostile intelligence officer came to New Zealand under a 'cover identity' and had meetings with senior Government officials with high level security clearances.

The spy visited "key New Zealand business facilities", according to information revealed by the SIS in its latest annual report.

"This activity may indicate foreign efforts to influence or access the knowledge of New Zealand's business community," said the SIS.

The sentences is not until Sept, 6 months. Its curious that there are other cases waiting on a sentences. The court is backed up. What are the other cases?

Subject matter of interception warrant

(1)Section 4B(1)(b) and (c)(i) are amended by inserting “or the facility” after “the place”.

(2)Section 4B(1) is amended by adding “; and” and also by adding the following paragraph:

“(d)if electronic tracking is to be undertaken, state either or both of the following:

“(i)a description of the thing or class of thing to be tracked:

“(ii)the identity of the person to be tracked.”
