Mammals have stages of growth. In early stages and through puberty "imprinting" takes place, from the environment.
TV is so all pervasive it's embedded in the psyche of most people. To speak against TV is a social threat and one can even be ostrasized for pointing out its flaws.
Strangely though most people claim not to watch it ["I don't really watch it." "I don't watch it much" "I use it to relax"] so they must subconsciously know they shouldn't be taking it seriously.
There are hard cases [arrogance] who believe they are "above it all" and so TV watching would never really matter or affect them. Those identify with Late Night Host humor?
