Why Haifa, you might ask? Well, here's some back story to this from the '90s.
Rupert Murdoch's son James had links into an Israeli company called NDS. Around that time that Viaccess and Dish (Nagrastar) were around, James got the NDS crowd to hack their viewing cards and released it via a guy called Boris (Boris Floricic) and a site called DR7.
The hack exploded from there and basically allowed Murdoch to undermine his competitors, much like he did with OnDigital in the UK at the same time. This allowed Sky to dominate and even though their Nagravision encryption was eventually hacked via Virgin, they were able to stay one step ahead of the hackers thanks to NDS. Haifa is the Silicon Valley of Israel.
What happened to Boris? Well, he was found hanging from a tree from a belt. Sound familiar?
