Any airgun with the capability to produce that much semi-auto fire has to have a great deal of available air, under high pressure. There are plenty of other clues that this was a firearm… but the most readily obvious is the fact that there is a not a huge tank hanging off the gun, or buried in the stock (Berreta uses an 88gm CO2 cartridge).
Trust me, if a semi auto could be made to truly look like an AR, the market would be full of them. Anything close is typically a BBgun, and very obviously cheaply made (and not semi).
