My first thought is light disbursement. I didn't watch the whole vid but the only explanation of the sun completely being blocked out by the light pole was easy. The 'sun' that we see prior to being blocked out was over emphasized in our visual cortex as we see a variety (not near enough) of spectrum. Interesting.
