Funny how all the people dismissing FFs as crazy conspiracy theories had no trouble believing what they were taught in public school history class–that the Reichstag fire was deliberately set by the Nazis to solidify their power. If that's not a textbook (literally) FF, then what is?

Exactly. And just like the Reichstag fire, many of the events which people are routinely ridiculed for suggesting they might be "False Flags" fit the exact description you stated. Events initiated by one entity to benefit their own interests by creating the illusion that somebody else is responsible. People can absolutely die. Things can absolutely be blown up. The distinction is that the true nature and intention of the perpetrators is deliberately obscured by focusing the blame on another group or person. The NZ shooting, like most recent shootings, could definitely fit this description.
