Come on, dude. WHO is taught to trust God/the church? The maybe 25 percent of America that could be described as devout. The rest of the country is taught a thousand times a day not to trust church/religion/clergy. smh

Yeah, except a tweet by Trump does not cancel out the fact that formal affiliation with churches/synagogues has been declining rapidly in America and "spiritual, not religious" has been rapidly increasing for the last decade or two. The news is full of stories about the sins of the clergy, and you are hard-pressed to find a TV show or a movie that depicts clergy/religious people in a positive light. The idea that Americans are taught to trust the church/clergy is ridiculous on its face.

Did I say that? I'm saying they haven't taught kids to trust God in a long time. "In God We Trust" as a slogan on money is not teaching kids to trust God. Sorry. What God did they have in mind, by the way? Allah? Jefferson's God? I don't trust that god.

My church started parochial schools because they didn't want our kids getting fed some vague Unitarian religion in the public schools. Too bad they didn't keep insisting on it.

You're right. The family is the key estate. Church and government falter with the family. I used to think families were collapsing due solely to our own decadence in this country, but in the last year or two I realized that it was being orchestrated by the powerful as well.
